Did
you know that Vauxhall make more vans than anyone else?
That's counting vans that they make for
Nissan and Renault of course, but they're also the
second biggest sellers of vans in the UK - only Ford sell
more (there's a surprise).

So here's their current 2007 line up
starting with the new Corsavan.
I don't 'get' small vans like the
Fiesta, the 206/207 and the Corsavan, because they're all
overpriced.
At the end of the day, what each
manufacturer has done is taken a small hatchback, thrown away
the seats, blanked off the rear windows and called it a van. But
to my mind they don't have enough room to be really practical
(although the Corsavan does look great) and they all cost more
than their bigger brothers - like I said, I don't get it, but if
you want one, you know who to ask!
Next
up is the Combo. It's what the Corsa combo became when it
grew up! But rather than a small car with a box glued onto the
back, the Combo is now a very well built van with plenty
of load space, some great new engines, and superb backup with
Vauxhall's 100,000 mile warranty (standard on all of their
vans).
The
new Astravan is
basically the Astra estate, with two doors and no side
windows. You'd expect this to drive brilliantly, and you
wouldn't be disappointed - especially at £39(+vat)
a week. That's for basic Club model, there is also the Sportive
model with all of the frills - but be ready to form an orderly
queue!
But
if you're thinking about Vauxhall vans, then the one that
most people will think of is the Vivaro. Vauxhall's
answer to the Transit really is a great answer.
Power has been increased on the latest
models, with a 90ps and a 115ps coming from a 2.0CDTi engine and
a six speed gearbox is standard on both.
Not only that but the 2.5 now gives
145ps, and there is a semi automatic version of both the 2.0 and
the 2.5 models too. Prices on the Vivaro are starting to fall
now after an expected small increase when the new models was
released, so there are now some bargains to be had - call us for
details.
Finally, to round off one of the UK
biggest ranges of vans, there's the r ecently
revamped Vauxhall Movano.
By now everyone must have seen the ad
of someone getting lost in the back of a Movano and
flicking a lighter to see where they are - well it's probably
big enough for that in reality.
Certainly there's enough room for the
tallest of people to stand upright, and the maxi roof version
will leave you with over 1.5 tonnes payload and almost 14cubic
metres of space to put that weight into!
The Movano's 2.5CDTi engine gives three
different power outputs, 100ps, 120ps and a massive 146ps in it
top range. Again prices are
starting to move, so contact us now to get the best deal
available on a Movano - we'll look forward to speaking to you!

The Vivaro and the Movano are
made as a joint venture between GM (who owns Vauxhall)
and Renault, who owns Nissan, so you'll find that the
Vivaro is also known as the
Nissan Primastar and the
Renault
Trafic, whilst the Movano is the
Nissan Interstar and the
Renault
Master. All of the vans are made in the same factory
in Luton. |
